Major Announcement, Austin F1 Track location to be revealed July 27th

Full Throttle Productions delivered media only invites this morning for a Tuesday morning press conference to announce the location of the new F1 track and facilities. Since the announcement of the F1 race by formula1.com, there has been rampant speculation to where the location would be; many have narrowed the possible locations down to few places in the SE vicinity, but Tavo Hellmund has kept any confirmation or exact location as tight lipped as possible.
Overall, Tavo has taken some heat for playing the details so close to his chest for so long. An over eager media, the comptroller’s use of state trust fund to help with sanctioning fee, and frankly, the very exuberant Susan Combs — has created a “loose with the facts” style of reporting, and mostly towards the negative side. The press conference is really the first “official” announcement made by Tavo’s group — the only other announcement being done by F1. Local nightly news has done an excellent job of filling in most of the details through on air interviews and consistent coverage. You might already know how we feel about the Statesman’s coverage.
Point being, this is great news for the track, the event and Austin. We are finally getting some concrete details that might put all the speculation, positive and negative, behind us and focus on putting Austin’s best face forward to the national exposure and new International crowd the event will attract. It may also lead to more positive ideas about the facilities uses beyond the F1 race, like a possible EV racing league, Formula Zero or even the American Le Mans Series that has less engine restrictions so teams use technology like diesel and hybrids. Hopefully you are just as excited as we are to hear more, and bookmark us if you want to keep updated on any future developments or news.

Let’s just make sure the concentration for F1 in the US is on the fans and sponsors… not the FIA…. not the manufacturers… and certainly not Bernie’s ego…. This is where Indy failed..

Cool layout. This would make the Austin track one of the longest.
